After being on these forums for a year, I’ve decided it’s time to pull my finger out and learn how to post screenshots and post an avatar. I’ve been put off because I’m about as IT-incompetent as you get. Resizing photos seem to be my issue.

Could someone please provide an easy to understand instruction for me?

    Thanks

I use 'QuickPic' edit function to reduce screenshots size to 200kb or so to post in forum.

    Thanks Jin.

So, I need to get some kind of 3rd party app to help me resize photos? Quick pic being the recommendation here?

Think I get it...I’ll have a go when feeling strong enough...

I find QuickPic easy to use and free.
    • Take the screenshots.
    • Open QuickPic.
    • Choose 'edit'.
    • Resize the pic to cut out 'things' you don't want showing. :D
    • Saved and then can post in forum.

    Awesome, Jin. Thank you.
That’s what I needed and sounds easy enough.

Hmm, can’t find free quick pic on iOS, just a quick pic at £1.99.
Bought it but it doesn’t work just get white screen.

Any other recommendations from anyone, please, that work on iOS?

Not to worry, I can google, just got another and will get it to work but not finding it obvious...

    Where’s my trusty hammer...?

You may need to tell QuickPic which folder to look for your screenshots.

    Nope, still defeating me...

Don’t think quickpic as you know it is in AppStore.
I’ve tried a couple others and see cropping readily enough but no resizing option.

    This stuff hurts my head...

Ok, think I may have found an app that makes things clearer for me: image resize. I have resized and saved it to my tablet.

But, to post it, it says ‘insert image url’.
But it’s on my iPad, not online. Is there a way to access my iPad, rather than save it to some iCloud thing?

At the bottom of a new post page you'll see the option "Upload a File". Tapping on it will give you the option to choose "My Files" to locate where you've saved the screenshots.

Ok, well, it’s on - thanks Jin!

So, it’s in portrait...I assume I should be able to make it landscape somehow too?

There are usually rotate right or left option in the pic editing app.
