New Question on tactics (SH & Resources)

Haven't played this game in over a year and given the changes that have occurred over that time I'm not sure what tips and strategies are still relevant..

Is it still a strong tactic to only upgrade damage/soldiers and not upgrade HP? Glass-cannon regiments.. makes your offense very high relative to your AP which is (or was) how opponent difficulty was determined.

Also, what's the priority for spending gold/crystals? Is it now upgrading weapons/banners for your top 5 and then imperial ships for crystals?

Thanks Warlords!

I will not answer all your questions, but i will say this:

Don't spend diamonds on ships, upgrades, shards at merchants, healing etc.
In my experience there are 3 things worth spending diamonds on:
1. Events (to get more shards of hard to get units like JJ or AG
2. Buy energy at tavern - for the same reason as above
3. Re-rolling some PVP battles, only if you compete for top 100, or top 10

Gold has gotten even more critical in the last year. Forging your equipment burns a lot of gold fast. Level 1-60 forging is (i think) 679,000 gold per unit. Take that times the number of units. Not even adding in combining ingots costs, leveling and applying upgrade tiles, etc. I forged all units items from 32 to 33 last week. Over 340,000 gold.

Interesting.

Did all warlords have their items/armor reset to 0? Looking back what advice would you give a brand new/returning player for prioritizing their gold? Only upgrade weapons? focus on certain regiments? spread equally?

All warlords were given their items on levels supposedly equivalent to what they had before NIS (the changeover). For example, mythical item at level 13 was replaced with NIS item at level 49. Mythical level at level 1 was replaced with item at level 37 I think.

What to upgrade with gold? That depends on your priority. If you want to compete for top 100 PVP, I'd just focus on your favorite 10-12 units and upgrade them, forge them and gather shards for them (make sure there are some strategical units like: GG, PES, MF). I'd spend gold on upgrades first as it seems to give more AP value (gold spent per AP gained). Keep in mind that Strongholds difficulty will increase as you gain AP
